Karen Kindt

Karen Kindt

In 2009 Karen made a career path change from photojournalism and documentary photography, to working as an Assistant Strategic Collection Manager at Queensland Museum.  The project work involved assisting with the implementation of a comprehensive storage system upgrade that included the rehousing of anthropology, social history, repatriation, mammals and bird collections. This work led to her obtaining a permanent position working as an Assistant Collection Manager for the Cultures & Histories program. Karen has a strong focus and interest in the objects held in the foreign ethnology collections. She is also in the preliminary stages of researching the history of registration methods and technologies applied to the collections throughout the museum’s 150 year history.
