The dinosaurs are migrating north

21 September 2016

With less than three weeks til the dinosaurs of Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous claw their way out of the Queensland Museum and migrate north, it is the last chance to explore this popular exhibition.

Closing October 9, the Museum’s most successful temporary exhibition features 20 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs from the crowd favourite T-Rex to the home-grown Australovenator and Muttaburrasaurus.

In 2015 more than 230,000 visitors saw this fantastic temporary exhibition making it the most popular in the Museum’s 154-year history and Queensland Museum CEO and Director Professor Suzanne Miller said this hugely successful exhibition was popular once again.

“Exhibits like these cross the generational divide attracting the interest of both young and old. To be able to see the actual size of these phenomenal creatures that roamed the earth 145-million years ago, really does inspire a sense of awe and wonder,” she said.

“With less than three weeks until Dinosaur Discovery closes, the school holidays are the perfect opportunity to immerse in all things dinosaur before their final roar.”

Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous has been supported by a range of special events and an augmented reality dinosaur app to complete the budding palaeontologist’s experience.

Heading north to enjoy the summer sun these incredible extinct creatures will be roaring their way back to life at the Museum of Tropical Queensland from December 10, 2016.

Tickets for these final weeks are on sale now through QTIX or by calling 13 62 46. Visit www.qm.qld.gov.au/dinosaur for more information.
